TOEFL Preparation Classes (ETS)

This is because this type of exam reflects very clearly the skills you have in the English language and, consequently, it allows institutions and universities to know that you have the necessary level. Differences between IELTS and TOEFL

Today, there are several different systems for official accreditation of English language proficiency. On the one hand we have the IELTS (International English Language Testing System), a type of test created by the University of Cambridge, the British Council and the IDP of Australia. This certificate is done in person and the speaking part is done in front of an examiner. In Spain there is only the British Council as an accredited entity to carry out these exams. The most characteristic feature is that you don’t pass or fail, but you are given a score that determines your level of English. There are two types of IELTS tests: the academic version and the general training version. However, there is a second evaluation system which is the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). This certificate is even older than the IETLS and is done online, accrediting from level A1 to C2.

Finally, we find the Cambridge English Language Assessment certificates, the most typical and well known in Spain. In this case, the exam is passed or failed but its validity is permanent, i.e., it does not expire. There are different exams depending on the level: KET, PET, First, Advanced and Proficiency (from A2 to C2) and they differ from those mentioned above by having a specific grammar.

What are the parts of the official TOEFL test?
