YES YOU CAN

YES YOU CAN

YES YOU CAN!

Why can’t I pass English?

“I’m doing very badly in English, I don’t understand anything.” This was the comment of a student before starting his first FunTalk class.

Why?” we asked.

I got a 1.7 out of 10 on my first test in school and it’s very difficult and I don’t like this subject, even though I make an extra effort in class, I can’t.” He had a worried and downcast countenance, as did his voice and attitude. Unfortunately, this is a common story when it comes to learning English and is true for many people of all ages.

So, this 10-year-old boy headed for his
English class at FunTalk
willing not to throw in the towel on the subject. When he came out of the English class after an hour and before we had time to ask him how he had been doing, his eyes The eyes were glowing with enthusiasm and his countenance had changed to reflect joy and excitement. He said in an optimistic tone, “Yes, the class went very well, and I was able to understand a lot more than I thought I would.”

Hopefully, we helped this 10-year-old begin to believe in himself and his ability to learn English. Hopefully we can say that we managed to change that erroneous conviction from “I can’t” to “English is not as bad as I thought, I CAN do it”. Because too many people are or have been in a similar situation when after failing an English exam or any other subject, they immediately doubt their abilities. But with the right help and stimulation they will believe in themselves again; if this help is given in a friendly and engaging environment, together with a teacher who believes in their abilities, they will manage to improve and change their attitude.

FunTalk – A new learning experience

Live it. Learn it. Love it.

YES YOU CAN!

“I’m no good at English, I don’t understand anything.” A student said before starting his first class at FunTalk.

“Why?” He was asked.

“I got a 1.7 out of 10 on my first exam in school and it’s really difficult and I don’t like this subject, even though I try really hard in class, I can’t do it.” His face looked worried and down, much like his voice and attitude. Unfortunately, this is a similar story for many people of all ages.

So, the 10 year old boy went into his class at FunTalk, willing to keep on trying with his English. After an hour, he came out and before he was even asked how the class had gone, his eyes were big and bright, and his face had changed to happy and hopeful. He said
in a optimistic tone, “Class went really well and I understood much more than I thought.”

Hopefully for that 10-year-old boy, we were able to help him to begin to believe in himself with English. Hopefully we changed that belief of ‘I can’t’ into ‘English isn’t so bad, I think I CAN do this.’ Because too many people have or have had a similar situation, where they failed an exam or subject and consequently stopped believing in their abilities. But with proper support and encouragement to help you believe in yourself, with a fun and engaging environment, with a teacher who believes in you, you can improve and change your mindset.

At FunTalk we can help you change your perspective about learning a language like English. We believe English and languages are tools for life, not just to pass an exam. We understand and take into account that students have different learning styles and paces, and we do our best to adapt to our students. We also believe that learning should be positive, engaging, and enjoyable, creating a comfortable and stress free environment conducive to learning. And most importantly, we believe in our students. We believe they are capable of learning and growing, we believe they CAN!
