FunTalk Inauguration

FunTalk Inauguration

Inauguration of FunTalk

Last Thursday, September 22, FunTalk celebrated its opening party and opened its doors to curious minds img_0504of all ages, children, youth and adults, to present a new experience in learning English. Thanks to the fusion of entertaining dynamic classes with interactive workshops in EnglishThe students have the opportunity to live and experience the language firsthand.

But first of all, we want to say a big thank you to all of you who came to the celebration and to those who helped make it a success. In case you missed out on the fun, here’s a little taste of the big day and a sneak preview of what FunTalk’s
interactive workshops
in English
FunTalk will be like this year.

FunTalk’s interactive English workshops dress up in the Circus World

The theme of FunTalk’s inauguration was the world of the circus and our great
FunTalk team
img_0455organized four simultaneous workshops in English. Even before crossing the threshold of the center, you could not miss our clown juggler on stilts jokingly welcoming all the attendees.

The professor of technology was the first to be visited in our particular circus and with him our guests were involved in a treasure hunt The system took students through the school’s classrooms using a system of barcodes that scanned them to help them find the next classroom they needed to go to and then find the next barcode.

img_0487Our arts and crafts teacher organized an activity in English in the arts and crafts classroom where the students had to identify various shapes and colors and then glue them on a disposable plate to create a funny clown face. Next, our circus skills teacher had prepared in various classrooms an ingenious obstacle course which was full of fun games; walking on a tightrope, shooting balls into a lion’s mouth, guessing and correctly placing the different parts of a clown’s body, and finally drawing everyone’s favorite animal on a blackboard.

Chocolate and cocktail workshops in English at FunTalk

Arriving at the last of the classrooms, the FunTalk kitchen had become a sweet chocolate workshop where students had to correctly identify the English vocabulary of each ingredient and then follow the recipe to make their own delicious chocolate. Parents and adults even had the opportunity to

FunTalk Inauguration

img_0504Last Thursday the 22nd of September, FunTalk held its inauguration party and opened its doors to all ages, for children, teens, and adults, to show a new language learning experience. By combining fun dynamic classes with interactive workshops, students have the opportunity to live and experience the language first hand.

First of all, thank you very much to all of you who came to celebrate with us and who helped make it a success. In caseimg_0455 you missed out on the fun, here’s a little taste of what happened and what the courses will be like for this year.

The FunTalk inauguration was based on a circus theme and there were a total of four workshops running at the same time organized by our fantastic FunTalk team. Before reaching our doors, you couldn’t help but see our juggling clown on stilts giving you a fun welcome. Guests were firstly directed to our technology teacher who designed a treasure hunt which took students through each
room on the premises using QR codes to scan each code which then gave you a clue that lead to the next room and the next QR code.

Our arts and crafts teacher organized an event in the arts and crafts room where students had to identify shapes and colors, then stick the colorful shapes on img_0487a paper plate to create a crazy clown face. Then moving back through the rooms, our circus teacher created an obstacle course full of fun games, such as walking on a tight rope, throwing a ball through a lion’s mouth, identifying and placing body parts on a clown, and finally drawing your own favorite animal on the chalk board. Moving on to the last room, the FunTalk Kitchen turned into a chocolate making activity, where students had to match vocabulary with the ingredients and followed a recipe to make their own delicious chocolate. Parents and adults even had the chance to participate in a cocktail making workshop, again identifying vocabulary with the ingredients to makeimg_0480jpg their own tasty cocktail.

All activities are in English and demonstrate our fun, dynamic and interactive way of learning. Registration is this week and FunTalk courses begin the first week of October, so sign up now before the classes fill up!

Summer camp with l’Associació Esportiva Ciutat Vella

One of the main values we are committed to at GetEnglish is to make educationScreen Shot 2016-06-23 at 5.01.28 PM accessible and available to everyone, regardless of their socioeconomic background. Therefore, we are very happy and proud to announce that this year GetEnglish will take part in the Casal de Verano together with l’Associació Esportiva Ciutat Vella in the Raval neighborhood, in the center of Barcelona.

This summer program is open to all children from the most disadvantaged areas of Barcelona who, unfortunately, do not normally have the opportunity to attend summer camps in English. This summer camp in English will allow participants to attend the usual summer camp organized every year by the Associació Esportiva Ciutat Vella in Barcelona but with the novelty of having joined GetEnglish to offer them the added value of enjoying the same type of activitiesbut in English. Thus, not only do they make it easier for deserving children to acquire English language skills, but they will learn and absorb the language naturally. This is mainly due to a methodology through which children are involved in activities both with other classmates and with the teacher, who has the ability to encourage the learning process to be more motivating if possible.

Barcelona has an infinite number of interesting places and activities
and activities to offer, especially

for children
. That is why, in addition to continuing to enjoy the activities that children do at school, ranging from dancing and acting, arts and crafts or the typical games of a lifetime, having fun with the usual summer races, championships of various games or even water wars; children will also be doing excursions and outings around the city of Barcelona as part of the English summer camp. Some of the outings include visits to the zoo, various museums in the city and even aqua parks to cool off and enjoy the essence of summer to the fullest.

So you can imagine how much these children will enjoy the summer in different social settings and on top of that, they will absorb, practice and learn English in an absolutely natural environment with one of our
native English teachers from the GetEnglish team.
. Is there a better way for a child to learn English than through fun activities that they feel totally involved with!

We would like to thank the Associació Esportiva Ciutat Vella for choosing GetEnglish to collaborate in such a special summer camp in Barcelona, where learning English becomes an important part of the learning process.Screen Shot 2016-06-23 at 5.00.17 PM stimulate and implement in a natural way through games, activities, excursions and, most important of all, making it accessible to everyone.

(Versión Español) Casal de verano con L’Associació Esportiva Ciutat Vella

Screen Shot 2016-06-23 at 5.01.28 PMOne of the most important values we share at GetEnglish is that education should be accessible and available to anyone and everyone, no matter what social or economic background you may come from. So GetEnglish is happy to announce and very proud to be taking part in the Casal de Verano alongside the Associació Esportiva Ciutat Vella en el Raval.

This summer program is offered to inner city children with fewer resources who typically and unfortunately are not able to attend English summer camps. During this summer camp, students participate in the normal summer camp that is offered annually by the Associació Esportiva Ciutat Vella, but this year they have teamed up with GetEnglish to give the added value of participating in the same activities, but also in English. So not only will learning English be more available to those who rightly deserve it, they will be learning and absorbing the language more naturally, and most importantly, through a methodology in which the child is already engaged in activities with not just the other classmates, but the teacher as well in order to bring out even moreScreen Shot 2016-06-23 at 4.54.30 PM motivation while learning.

Barcelona has so many activities and places of interest to offer, especially for kids. So besides the activities that the kids will do at the school, which include anything from dancing and acting, doing arts and crafts, playing traditional games, to just having summer fun with races, competitions, and even a good old water fight, the kids will also go on excursions throughout the city. Some of the excursions include going to the zoo, several of the museums in the city, and even some water parks to have fun and cool off in the sun.

So you can imagine all the enjoyment the kids from all different backgrounds will have this summer, Screen Shot 2016-06-23 at 5.00.17 PMand not only that, they will be taking in, practicing, and learning English in a completely natural environment with a native English teacher from the GetEnglish team. What a better way for a child to learn English than through enjoyable activities the students are engaged in.

So thank you Associació Esportiva Ciutat Vella for choosing GetEnglish to work with on such a special summer camp in which English will be encouraged and implemented naturally through fun games, activities, and excursions, and most importantly making it available to everyone.
