Cambridge Advanced preparation classes

At FunTalk we offer courses totally focused on the preparation of the Advanced exam of the English language, which is equivalent to level C1 according to the European Framework. These courses are aimed at teenagers in secondary school and high school, as well as adults. Our methodology is based on learning by doing, dealing with topics of interest and real life situations. The groups are formed based on the level of the students, so that everyone can feel comfortable and go at a pace according to their needs. There are an infinite number of reasons when we consider preparing for an official certification of our level of English. The most obvious ones are for work and/or academic reasons, but we must not forget other advantages that we will obtain by preparing for this advanced level of English, such as traveling, understanding any native speaker perfectly and being able to have a conversation with a full and rich vocabulary. Knowing and having the will to learn another language at an advanced level will also allow us to get to know the Anglo-Saxon culture more closely and to gain more confidence in ourselves, seeing that we are able to express ourselves in a natural and fluent way.

Do you need to obtain the official C1 English certificate?

At FunTalk we are experts in preparing the official Cambridge exams and we know perfectly how this type of exams are and which are the parts that need to be worked on the most. Naturally, this is a course that aims to achieve the official title of Advanced (CAE), with a satisfactory result. In this type of exams, 4 different areas of the English language are evaluated: reading comprehension and use of English, written expression, listening comprehension and, finally, oral expression. These parts are the same as the First Certificate and Proficiency exams, but with a different level of difficulty. In each of the classes we will work on these four parts and we will put special focus on those in which you have more difficulties. Remember that no one has to take the official exam on the same day, so everyone will be able to go at the pace set by their needs and level. One of the great advantages of working with small groups is that interaction is encouraged, oral expression can be practiced in a much more practical way, and the school’s teachers can offer a totally personalized service adapted to each student.

Detailed schedules of the C1 preparation courses

The preparatory courses for the official C1 exam have time slots completely designed so that anyone can attend and combine it with their studies, work and other responsibilities. We offer courses of 2 and 3.5 hours per week, as well as 6 hours in the intensive version. It is recommended that you sign up for more or less hours depending on your time availability and, of course, the goal you have set for yourself.

What is assessed in the official Advanced exam?

The official exam of the C1 level of English evaluates four different areas: oral comprehension, listening comprehension, written expression and the use of english and reading comprehension. In FunTalk’s preparation courses, we will focus on working on each and every one of these areas in order to successfully pass the exam.

What are the Advanced preparation schedules?

The Advanced preparation schedules can be consulted on this page. We have selected different time slots so that everyone can combine them. You can choose from three different timetable proposals, with their respective time slots: one class of two hours per week, two classes of one and a half hours per week, or an intensive of 6 hours per week divided into classes of 2 hours.

What benefits will I obtain by passing the CAE?

The CAE and, in general, any other English qualification can help you to obtain a university degree or spend a semester in a foreign university, as well as it can open many doors in the workplace. Keep in mind that, increasingly, English has become an almost indispensable language in all jobs, so obtaining a certification will give you a competitive advantage over other candidates. In addition, any English language qualification will help you to have sufficient knowledge of the language to be able to engage in conversation and travel.
